Iridology is one of my favorite holistic tools because it’s so gentle and insightful. By studying the iris — the colored part of your pet’s eye — we can learn a surprising amount about what’s happening inside their body. How It Works

In animal iridology, the iris is divided into zones that correspond to different organs and systems — the liver, kidneys, digestive tract, skin, and more. By looking closely at these areas, we can see subtle signs of inflammation, toxicity, or stress.

Changes in color or fiber structure can reveal how the body is coping. For example, a certain shading might suggest digestive sluggishness, while a shift in texture could point to immune strain. These clues help us guide nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle adjustments that support healing from the inside out.

Ruby's Story

Ruby is one of the reasons I fell in love with iridology

Recently, I completed an iridology assessment on my own 10-year-old Papillon, Ruby, before her annual veterinary checkup. I wanted to see if there were any areas that deserved closer attention.

During the assessment, I noticed markings associated with the bladder, kidneys, and liver that suggested these areas might be under stress.

Because of these findings, I asked my veterinarian to investigate further. Testing and X-rays revealed bladder casts and an enlarged liver.
